The history of the luxury brand Blancpain and its women's collection
In 1735 Jehan-Jacques Blancpain founded his watch shop in the village of Villeret. In 1815, the grandson of the founder brought specially designed extra-thin watches onto the market for the first time. After the representative of the 7th Blancpain generation died in 1932, his assistant Betty Fiechter became the managing director. She managed the company until 1961, when it was taken over by Societe Suisse pour l'Industrie Horlogere. Thus Blancpain came together with Omega, Tissot and Lemania. After another merger, Blancpain belonged to Frederic Piquet for a long time. The first automatic wristwatches for women were sold in 1930. The company is considered a pioneer in this field and it is constantly trying to make improvements to the models.
