The Havilland Mosquito was one of the fastest aircraft in the world. The so-called "wooden miracle" set a milestone in British aviation history in the years 1940 - 1950, among other things because it was made entirely of wood. For these honors Breitling used the manufactory's own Caliber 01 and combined this with a stainless steel bezel. The appearance is rounded off by striking orange and red accents on the dial. This is intended to evoke the fuselage of the aviator Havilland Mosquito. The watch model combines white numbers on a black background. The Aviator 8 B01 Chronograph 43 Mosquito is available with a leather strap, which is optionally equipped with a pin buckle or a folding clasp. Stability and safety are ensured by water resistance to a depth of 100 m in combination with sapphire crystal. The glass is anti-reflective on both sides. The overall picture is rounded off by the brushed stainless steel bezel that can be turned in both directions. The vibration of the watch is 28800 A per hour. This value corresponds to a number of 3 Hz.
The Breitling company
Founded in 1884, the company for the production of premium watches originally started out as an expert for chronographs. In the meantime, the Breitling company has developed into one of the leading watch suppliers. Breitling not only stands for high quality, but is also a status symbol for the wearer. In addition to the production of high-quality timepieces, the Swiss company is also active as a sponsor. In 2018, for example, it founded its own triathlon team, which, thanks to renowned members, is one of the best in the competition. In addition, the Swiss watchmaker has strong connections to aviation, as already mentioned at the beginning.
