Hands that point to nothing
The hands of the Chanel Premiere watches are also stylishly simple and discreet through and through. The only striking thing about them is that they basically point at nothing. The watches in the Chanel Premiere collection have neither numbers nor lines to show the time. Only the brand name "Chanel" indicates at which end of the watch the twelve o'clock position is located. All other hour positions are then deduced from the position of the hands. This may sound difficult for all those who are not used to it, but the experienced lady of the world who wears such a watch can tell the time with a confident look.
A watch for premiere appearances?
The name Premiere, immediately brings to mind red carpet appearances, world premieres and first presentations. Thanks to their incomparable elegance, the watches from the Chanel Premiere collection are indeed perfect for such occasions. Yet that is not the reason why they have been given this name. The word Premiere, or correctly spelled Première, is French and means first, because the Chanel Premiere watches were the first wristwatch collection to be produced by fashion designer Chanel. They were first presented to the Parisian fashion world in 1987. Today, however, they are still produced in La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland.
