Pangaea
Meistersinger has always been inspired by history. But with the name Pangaea, the German watch manufacturer has gone back further than ever before. The combination of the ancient Greek words πᾶν, pan, and πᾶν, gaia, translated means whole earth. It refers to the primordial continent which, at the end of the Paleozoic era, united all the land masses of the earth into one supercontinent. At that time, from 325 million years ago to 150 million years ago, all of today's continents lay close together in a single large mass. This enabled the first dinosaurs to spread over all continents.
Day Date
But time does not stand still and Pangaea disintegrated long before the first humans emerged. As despite its name modern timepieces, the Meistersinger Klassik Plus Pangaea Day Date also always shows the day of the week and the date. In doing so, it deviates in its name from the usual Meistersinger tradition of choosing either German or Latin words. Day and Date are in English and in this language the abbreviations of the weekdays are also shown on the watch. Meistersinger Klassik Plus Pangaea Day Date thus takes into account the fact that English is the language of international communication today and is understood all over the world, Pangaea.
