Distinct and precise
In clear and distinct blue on silver, silver on blue or white on black, the markings of the Oris BC3 stand out unmistakably. Every minute mark is clearly visible at a glance, making it easy to read the time to the second. The hour markings are inscribed with the sober and clear Arabic numerals typical of Oris. They are the same colour as the rest of the markings, emphasising the simplicity of the visual design, which is usually limited to two colours. Three wide, sober yet not clumsy hands with a clear tip fit perfectly into the design, and show the time accurately and clearly.
Day of the week and date
The only exception to the hour markings on the Oris BC3 is the six o'clock position. Instead of the six o'clock mark, there is an extended six o'clock line drawn directly to a square field of view which shows the date. Above this, symmetrically to the Oris brand name below the twelve, is another much longer field of vision. It contains the day of the week, abbreviated to three letters from the English name of the day. Both displays are black and white on Oris BC3 watches with silver dials. On the dark dials they are in white on black to avoid being too prominent.
