The De Ville separated from the Seamaster family in the 1960s and has since stood for the classic side of Omega: flat cases, understated dials, no sporting features. The line encompasses the subgroups Prestige, Trésor, and Ladymatic. The calibre 8934 belongs to the Master Co-Axial generation. It operates with the Co-Axial escapement, which reduces frictional loss compared to the conventional lever escapement. The free-sprung balance wheel carries a silicon hairspring that is insensitive to magnetic fields and temperature fluctuations. As a Master Chronometer, it has been tested by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology METAS and is resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss.
