USEFUL HINTS FOR THE CORRECT STORAGE AND CARE OF YOUR WATCH
Your watch should be maintained regularly and stored carefully, so that you can enjoy your timepiece for a long time. Do not wear a bracelet or a chain on the same wrist as your watch, so that the gloss and perfect surface of your watch case is preserved permanently. Please note that both mechanical watches and quartz watches are sensitive to temperature fluctuations - so avoid these as much as possible. Do not expose your watch to extreme temperatures (above 60 ° C / 140 ° F or below 0 ° C / 32 ° F). The battery life could be reduced thereby. It could also lead to an impairment of liquidity / viscosity of the lubricant. We also advise you not to wear your watch in sports such as tennis, golf or mountain biking in order to protect the watch from shocks that could damage the movement.
Of course, a watch is not always just a collector's item or a financial investment, but also a commodity. However, proper storage is essential for the preservation and the life span of your watch. Additionally, you should protect your watch from excessive sunlight and light irradiation and keep the watch in a dry environment with little humidity. We advise our customers to store the watch in an appropriate lock-up or in a for the storing provided box. If the watch is not worn for a longer period of time, a watch winder is advisable. It keeps the automatic movement in motion. If you are interested in a watch winder, we are happy to help you with it.
In case of a light soiling, the dirt can be removed from a waterproof watch with at least 3 bar ~ 30m with a damp cloth. You must not use detergent because this could cause damage to the watch back and the watch crown. In addition, through this also the seal rings of the watch could be attacked. We generally recommend you only cleaning with a dry cloth and brush to remove dust grains.
We want you to enjoy your stainless steel wristband as long as possible. With the exception of an occasional light brushing (ideally at the end of the summer), a metal bracelet does not require any special care. Use a soft brush to remove all dust particles and grains of sand that may be found in the links of the wristband. A treatment or polish of your wristband can be conducted by experts. We are happy to assist you here.
We want you to enjoy your rubber wristband as long as possible. Therefore, we advise you to avoid the contact with fatty or acidic substances and cosmetics. In addition, you should not expose the wristband to heat or UV rays for a longer time. Especially UV rays can destroy the nature of the material. A bracelet made of natural rubber can be maintained in good condition when it is easily cleaned with soapy water and then rinsed with fresh (non-calcareous) water.
We want you to enjoy your leather wristband as long as possible. Therefore, we advise you to avoid the contact with fatty or acidic substances and cosmetics. In addition, you should not expose the wristband to heat or UV rays for a longer time. Especially UV rays can destroy the nature of the material and, for example, change the colour of the wristband. This is why we only recommend leather care products for watches to clean or polish your leather wristband. Especially in summer, the leather wristband is exposed to external friction. In this period, we advise you to exchange the band with a rubber band or a metal band, where available, which goes with your watch model.
A watch is a sensitive subject in need of special care and attention. To maintain the original luster of your watch, we recommend a regular maintenance every six to ten years. With a good service or a revision of your watch, the movement is removed from the housing, disassembled, cleaned and oiled professionally with lubricants geared to the watches’ needs. A visual treatment of your watch and your watchband is done here, as well.
