Of course, at the end of every year, watch lovers ask themselves which models will make it into the following year and which models will be revised or discontinued. Rolex, for example, is a pioneer here in terms of the rumor mill. We present our candidates for fundamental changes next year here. Of course, these are just predictions, but we think they are very well founded.

1. Rolex Daytona

We believe that in 2023, not just one Daytona model, but the entire series will be overhauled. The occasion could be the 60th anniversary of the iconic chronograph. If Rolex does decide on just one model, Ref. 116500 would be our tip. The watch with the ceramic bezel has been part of the collection since 2016 and would definitely be a contender for one of the subtle design revisions that Rolex values so much. Underneath a slightly larger case, for example, there could be some more advanced watch technology, which would mean that enthusiasts of the series would not have to do without anything. The precedent for this already existed with the overhaul of the Submariner. The Geneva brand is always good for surprises. Whether the Daytona series will therefore be updated next year cannot be said with certainty. However, we would like to take this opportunity to wish all the best for the anniversary.

2. Rolex Milgauss

The second entry on our list also belongs to Rolex. We think that the Milgauss series will also get an update. The assumption is obvious, because the Rolex Air King, whose case is very similar to the Milgauss, has already been updated this year. Originally, it was designed as a watch for engineers and scientists, whose chronographs were to function reliably even in the vicinity of strong magnetic fields. This special functionality - coupled with the unique Rolex design - can also be seen in the current generation of the watch from 2007. Wouldn't it be time for a little overhaul?

3. Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 Turquoise

The third slot on our list is also occupied by a Rolex. The popular watch with the typical turquoise blue is not one of the most popular models in the series for nothing. We can't imagine that the earlier models will disappear completely, even if production was stopped this year. In fact, with the Ref. 277200 (31 mm) and the Ref. 126000 (36 mm), Rolex still releases two (slightly smaller) models with turquoise dials. Since these models are so sought-after, we don't assume that Rolex will want to do away with them completely.

4. Patek Philippe Nautilus

While we just had to say goodbye to the Nautilus Ref. 5711, Patek Philippe surprised its fans with the new Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5811. There was also a comeback for the Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph Ref. 5990 in the form of stainless steel case and blue sunburst dial. Our tip for the next update in the series: the Patek Philippe Nautilus Moonphase Ref. 5712.

5. Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300M 007 Edition

We do not want to leave this watch unmentioned, because this is a special case. Originally, the chronograph was made for Daniel Craig's last assignment as James Bond. Still, we're excited to see what the brand has in store next. Because: new Bond, new watch.
