This article is for you if you've ever wondered how long selected watch models have actually been on the market, because there have been no major announcements about them. Although they are comparatively new, you still get the feeling that they are good old friends. We'll explain why here.

Rolex Air King

Even before the re-release of the Rolex Air King watch, there was some speculation as to whether and in what form it would eventually take place. The fact that it ended up being quite unspectacular was probably partly due to the fact that its presence was undermined by long waiting times and a partial lack of availability. On top of that, it looks extremely similar to the predecessor. Where there are deviations, however, they are very successful. The entire minute scale of the dial now has two digits, and the luminous material on hands, on the 3, the 6 and the 9, as well as the triangle on the 12 makes it easy to read even in the dark. The crown protector is also new. Caliber 3230 replaces the previously installed caliber 3131, clearing the way for the new generation. With the upgrade from 48 to 70 hours of power reserve and improved magnetic field protection, it also overtakes the previous model from a technical point of view. The "superlative chronograph" certificate is no coincidence. Water resistant to 10 bar, Oysterlock safety folding clasp and a stylish, striking taper, as you would expect from Rolex. Here, the brand proves with its design and top quality that it is rightly one of the most popular.

IWC Mark XX

Also relatively unnoticed: the debut of the Mark XX. One of the main reasons for this might be the very high resemblance to its predecessor, the Mark XVIII. However, if you take a closer look, you can see the differences from the old model. These include the white date field that allows for better readability, the rhodium-coated hands that shine elegantly, and the slightly slimmer design. IWC are not known for their pilot watches for nothing. The three-hand watches - including date display - of the Mark series are basically the prototypes of the brand. This was appropriately honored by equipping them with the factory's own manufacture caliber 32111. The technical improvements also include the accuracy, power reserve with now 120 hours and water resistance to 100 meters, as well as the quick-change system for the bracelet.

Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro ESteel

Watch manufacturers are now also increasingly interested in sustainable production. This Panerai model takes this development into account. The watch is made of over 50 percent recycled raw materials. This includes the two straps it comes with - one made of PET fabric and one made of rubber. In total, the sustainable portions only make up about 72 grams per watch; it doesn't seem like more is possible at the moment, but it's a start and therefore gets a special mention here. For that, the inner workings of the watch are the same as before: automatic caliber P.900 with three-day power reserve and water resistant up to 300 meters.

Oris ProPilot X Calibre 400

Not the most famous Swiss watch brand, but an insider tip with a really wide range for every occasion. This includes a selection of pilot watches that are both technically and visually cockpit-ready. Included is the ProPilot X Calibre 400, which is available with dials in blue, gray and even pink. Other highlights include the slim 39 mm diameter, the watch's light weight thanks to the generous use of titanium, and the manufacture caliber, which is visible through the elegant sapphire crystal case back.
