Even on hot summer days, you want to shine and feel good with an attractive wristwatch. Attractiveness and a well-groomed appearance are closely related to an attractive wristwatch. But not every bracelet is suitable for every purpose.

Which material is suitable in summer?

When choosing watch straps, especially with summer in mind, you should not only look at the design, but also consider the material used. Leather watch straps are particularly popular for watches. Unfortunately, due to their product characteristics, they are not at all suitable for the intense heat of summer. The strap quickly becomes brittle and cracked because it dries out very quickly in the sun. Sometimes you can still achieve something by using saddle soap. It is preferable to use saddle soap that is suitable for smooth leather. However, if you really want to be sure that the watch strap will not be damaged in any way and that it will look good for a long time, other materials are to be preferred.

Canvas straps have particularly good properties and are very comfortable on the wrist, especially on hot summer days. The straps are made of a particularly tight and dense yarn. The composition of the material can be very diverse. Cotton, hemp and linen are often used. Sometimes, however, polyester is also added. Unlike leather wristbands, canvas wristbands can absorb sweat and moisture much better. The canvas strap does not appear taut and brittle as quickly and is also much easier to clean.

A watch strap made of rubber is also an exciting alternative.

For particularly hot summer days, bracelets made of rubber are an extremely exciting alternative. You certainly have to make some concessions here, but this wristband is clearly better than comparable leather wristbands if you focus on heat and humidity. Bracelets made of rubber do not simply get completely soaked and therefore always look elegant and fresh, even in summer, because the increased humidity does not cause any visible wear. But where do you have to make concessions and what can this bracelet not do that a bracelet made of canvas can? Ultimately, the only noticeable drawbacks are in the comfort of wearing it on the wrist. Even if wetness and sweat are not visible, they can be felt by the wearer of the watch. However, there are also differences depending on the model. If you opt for a ribbed model, the effect of increased moisture on the wrist is almost imperceptible.

This bracelet is a very sturdy yet lightweight pull-through bracelet made entirely of nylon. It consists of 2 metal rings and is fastened by a metal buckle. This model was first introduced in 1973 by the British Ministry of Defence. In the meantime, the Nato bracelet has also become very popular for private purposes.

The advantages of this design are by no means to be overlooked. The finely woven nylon absorbs sweat very well on hot summer days and is not simply exposed to wear and tear. Furthermore, it is very advantageous that this bracelet can repel dirt very easily and is very tear-resistant. A Nato bracelet is available in many designs. You can therefore almost always find a beautiful model.

Use a high-quality steel watch band

Steel watch straps are also a very good way to get through the summer feeling good and, above all, comfortable. Who wants to wear a completely sweaty bracelet on their wrist?

Steel is convincing all along the line, because it is robust and very resilient. It will not suffer any serious damage, even if it is exposed to a lot of moisture. In general, steel is very resistant to high temperatures and thus ideally suited for a particularly hot summer. But there is another important advantage that must be mentioned here. Despite the robust workmanship, such a watch strap is pleasantly light and does not heat up unstoppably. So you can get through the hottest summer!

A large selection that does not make the decision easy

It quickly becomes apparent that the selection of suitable watch straps is very large, even for a particularly hot summer. But which bracelet is the most suitable and should therefore be shortlisted? This question can by no means be answered in a general way and depends above all on very personal feelings. In addition to the purely practical properties, which primarily relate to the quality in terms of moisture absorption, the design of a particular watch should be considered more closely. Here, too, personal preferences play a very important role. Not every watch can always be combined optimally with every outfit.

Metal watch strap

A metal watch strap is also highly recommended on hot summer days. It is distinguished by its robust workmanship and extremely low susceptibility to wear. Even if you tend to sweat a lot, the metal bracelet will not be affected.

Care plays an important role

The list above quickly shows that there are many ways to wear a bracelet on hot summer days. Nevertheless, the bracelets should be cared for accordingly. Depending on the type of bracelet, different methods can be used. If the bracelet is made of metal, it can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a soft brush. A cotton swab that has been soaked in soapy water can also be used very well. You should by no means forego thorough cleaning, because dirt and dust also prefer to collect in the gaps. This quickly makes the watch look unattractive and is also not necessarily pleasant from a hygienic point of view.

Watch straps made of rubber can also be cleaned particularly well with soapy water. Rough brushes are not recommended here, however, as traces may quickly remain on the material. Soapy water should also be rinsed off very thoroughly so that no residues remain. Thorough cleaning extends the life of the rubber considerably.
