Expressive design with functional depth
The design of the X-Wind is unmistakable. The three screw-down crowns on the side of the case are striking – two of which control the internal rotating bezel for calculating crosswind compensation. Combined with the classic chronograph layout with three totalizers, this creates an exciting yet functionally structured look.
The case measures 44 to 45 mm and is made of brushed stainless steel. The dials are deep and richly detailed – usually in black, blue, or military green, with orange or beige accents. Large Arabic numerals and luminous hands ensure optimal legibility. A date and day display at 9 o'clock rounds out the functionality.
Robust leather straps with rivets or a stainless steel bracelet further enhance the aviator style. Anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown, and 10 bar water resistance make the X-Wind Auto Chrono absolutely suitable for everyday use – despite its technical complexity.
Automatic chronograph with extra competence
Inside is the Hamilton Caliber H-21 – an automatic chronograph movement with a 60-hour power reserve. It's based on the proven ETA 7750 architecture and has been technically enhanced by Hamilton for the X-Wind. In addition to the stopwatch function, it features the exclusive crosswind drift calculation – controlled via the rotating bezel elements.
The chronograph functions (seconds, 30 minutes, 12 hours) are precisely operated via the non-slip pushers. The watch offers stable timekeeping, shock-resistant components, and everyday operation – even for wearers without a flying background.
A transparent case back on many models provides a view of the mechanical inner workings – including a decorated rotor with the Hamilton logo. For technology enthusiasts, the X-Wind is more than just a chronograph – it's an analog measuring instrument with a handcrafted feel.
Variants for pilots and adventurers
The X-Wind Auto Chrono is available in various designs: with silver, blue, black, or olive green dials—depending on the model, with color details in orange, bronze, or beige. Strap options range from sporty stainless steel to rugged leather to military-style textile straps.
In addition to the regular models, there are special editions, for example in bronze or with a DLC-coated case. This creates a collection that combines technology, design, and authenticity in a unique way. The Hamilton Khaki Aviation X-Wind Auto Chrono is a watch for those who don't just measure time—they also calculate with it.
