The history of the Blancpain company spans 279 years. In 1926, Blancpain developed the first wristwatch with an automatic winding mechanism. Blancpain's luxury watches combine tradition, quality and innovation. All components are still made by hand, thus expressing the high art of watchmaking. The oldest watch manufacturer was founded in 1735 in Villeret, Switzerland, and was family-owned. Having disappeared from the market in the meantime, the company was re-established in 1983. Blancpain continues to invest a lot of money and time in the development of new luxury watches.
