The housing

The watch is water-resistant to 100 metres thanks to a monoblock middle part with a screwed-on base and a diameter of 36 mm. The case is closed with a special key and hermetically sealed so that nothing can get in. The 904 L stainless steel construction, a material normally used in aviation, underlines the robustness of the watch. Highly corrosion-resistant, the watch can withstand extreme situations and can even be used in large temperature fluctuations.

The band

The Oyster band was developed in the late 1930s and has been setting standards ever since. It is not only comfortable to wear, but also meets the highest technical and aesthetic requirements. With predominantly wide and flat elements, the three-row band is one of the most common bands. The band is rounded off with the matching Oysterclasp. This makes the elegant band comfortable and robust, making it the perfect companion for the timeless Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36.

The dial

The dial of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual is available in four different designs. Steel, red grape, blue and grey are the different colours that can be freely selected and give the watch a face. The indices made of 18 carat gold are the same in all of them and prevent tarnishing. This means that the watch is always easy to read. As it is almost entirely hand-made, the dial also meets the highest standards and shines with perfection. The view of the dial is rounded off by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, which guarantees a clear view at all times. The centrally positioned hour, minute and second hands are therefore easy to read and the stop-second function guarantees that the time can be set precisely.

The work

The automatic self-winding mechanism is operated by a half-moon-shaped rotor. It can be charged in two directions and thus takes advantage of every movement of the wrist. The 3130 movement was developed and produced entirely by Rolex, which means that every movement is checked by hand. Thanks to the built-in paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, the watch can still function perfectly even in the event of large temperature fluctuations or strong shocks.
