Vacheron Constantin

The company was founded in Geneva as early as 1755, making it one of the oldest watch manufactures in the world. Vacheron Constantin creates watches whose movements combine numerous complications with dials featuring enamel work. The delicate details of the watchmaking craft often only become clearly visible under a loupe. New combinations of complications are applied in every collection of Vacheron Constantin luxury watches. The company's main manufacture is located in Plan-les-Ouates in the canton of Geneva. Since its founding, Vacheron Constantin has established itself as one of the best-known Swiss makers of luxury watches worldwide. Since 1880, the Maltese cross has adorned Vacheron Constantin's watch models.

Luxury watches by Vacheron Constantin

The Maltese cross has been the emblem of Vacheron Constantin since 1880, the year it was patented. Since then, special creations have been launched time and again, and seven collections of Vacheron Constantin watch models are currently available. A very special piece is the watch “The Complexity”, which was made for King Farouk of Egypt over a period of five years. Vacheron Constantin luxury watches unite tradition and modernity and are popular collector's pieces, as the production runs of the various watches are strictly limited.

The brand's various collections

The Overseas collection combines a sporty character with sophisticated technical features, while the Patrimony line embodies stylish elegance. Here, slim cases are the distinguishing feature, and miniaturisation is applied even to complications such as the perpetual calendar. The new version of calibre 1120 QP was developed and manufactured by Vacheron Constantin. As a QP, the luxury watch is only four millimetres high, yet it still displays the complete leap-year cycle. A correction is not required until March 2100. The Hallmark of Geneva, a seal of quality, distinguishes this automatic movement, which is equipped with a balance oscillating at 19,800 vibrations per hour. The power reserve is 40 hours. This entire technical marvel is made visible through a sapphire crystal caseback. The Patrimony, 1972, Malte, Overseas, Historiques and Métiers d'Art collections, as well as the Quai de l'Île collection, all embody the very finest watchmaking.

Anniversary watches and other models

For its 250th anniversary in 2005, Vacheron Constantin released the Tour de l'Île wristwatch. What makes this watch special are its 16 complications and 834 components. It is limited to just seven pieces. Other well-known Vacheron Constantin luxury watches include the reference 4261, the Kallista and the Ultra-Plate. The Kallista ranks among the most expensive wristwatches in the world. With every creation, Vacheron Constantin and its luxury watches stand for tradition and quality. The Patrimony case is always made of platinum or gold and measures 41 millimetres in diameter and 8.9 millimetres in height. A silvered dial, showcased beneath sapphire crystal, is richly appointed: Above the “6”, the moon phase can be seen in a blue sky aperture. The day of the week and the date face each other at “9” and “3”, while at “12” the months can be read on a 48-month scale. The fine gold tone of the watch is matched by a brown alligator leather strap with a gold buckle. The brand's watches are not only popular collector's pieces, they also skilfully complement a business outfit or an elegant appearance.
