The Explorer is the simplest sports watch from Rolex. It was presented in 1953, the year of the first ascent of Mount Everest, and was intended from the outset as a robust watch for expeditions. The black dial with the large numerals 3, 6 and 9 is typical. Every watch is new and unworn, comes with box, papers and the international Rolex warranty and is shipped fully insured. Explorer 36 and Explorer 40

The Explorer is available at 36 and 40 millimetres, both in Oystersteel and with the calibre 3230. The movement offers around 70 hours of power reserve and is certified as a Superlative Chronometer. The 36-millimetre version corresponds to the classic size, while the 40-millimetre version has more presence on the wrist.

Features and everyday use

The case is water-resistant to 100 metres, and numerals and hands glow blue in the dark with Chromalight. The Explorer is worn on the Oyster bracelet with folding clasp and Easylink extension. If you also want a second time zone and a date, you will find both on the Explorer II.
