History of the Chronomat
The Chronomat appeared in 1984 and was developed with the Italian aerobatic team Frecce Tricolori. The rider tabs on the bezel were meant to make it easier to operate even with gloves. In 2020 Breitling introduced the current generation, which brought back the Rouleaux bracelet of the early models.
B01 calibre and case
The Chronomat B01 42 uses the in-house B01 calibre with column wheel, vertical clutch and around 70 hours of power reserve, certified as a chronometer. The case measures 42 mm and is water-resistant to 200 metres. Besides steel there are bicolour and gold versions as well as special models such as the Six Nations editions, and you will find a larger version under Super Chronomat B01 44.
