Design with origins
The Portugieser Chronograph combines classic lines with technical clarity – a signature that can be traced back to the late 1930s. Originally conceived as a precise marine chronometer for the wrist, the model has evolved over the decades into a design icon within the IWC collection.
Typical of the series is the uncluttered dial with Arabic numerals, slender feuille hands, and a discreetly integrated stopwatch function. Two vertically arranged totalizers blend harmoniously into the overall design, keeping the chronograph function prominent without detracting from the elegant character.
Technology & variants in detail
Inside is the IWC-manufactured caliber 69355 – a precise, self-winding chronograph movement with column-wheel timing and a power reserve of up to 46 hours. Visible through a sapphire crystal case back, it offers a glimpse into the fine mechanics and high-quality finish.
The case measures 41 mm – perfectly balanced for a wide range of wrists. Models are available in stainless steel or rose gold. The dials come in classic colors like silver, blue, or black – complemented by straps made of alligator leather or polished stainless steel with a butterfly clasp.
Elegance that dominates function
The Portugieser Chronograph impresses with its clear design, technical reliability and a wearing comfort that fits effortlessly into every daily routine.
It is a chronograph for people who want to subtly combine precision and style – sporty enough for everyday use, elegant enough for that special moment.
