The moon phase
The display does not show the moon as a simple disc but with a detailed surface of craters and plains. If you look closely, you will discover a footprint on it as a reference to the 1969 moon landing that turned the Speedmaster into the Moonwatch.
Calibres 9904 and 9905
The steel models are powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 9904, the gold models by calibre 9905. Both have automatic winding, column wheel control and around 60 hours of power reserve. Certification by the Swiss institute METAS covers precision, water resistance and resistance to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss, among other things, and the movement is visible through the sapphire caseback.
Moonphase or Moonwatch Professional
The Moonphase combines chronograph, date and moon phase with automatic winding. The 42 mm Moonwatch Professional keeps manual winding and the clean dial known since the Apollo missions. A sporty alternative with the same diameter is the Speedmaster Racing.
