Innovators by tradition
Tissot watches feature sophisticated technology that is far ahead of any other Swiss watch manufacturer. Sensible functions meet dynamic sportiness, understated classicism, and refined straightforwardness. In every version, these luxury watches are embodied by a constant spirit of innovation rooted in tradition. The brand's motto, "innovators by tradition," is thus not just a program, but rooted in the very origins of the brand, whose watches are now worn in over 150 countries.
The journey from a Swiss workshop to expansion into over 150 countries
Tissot's origins date back to 1853 and are the product of innovation and craftsmanship. Charles Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile Tissot founded their brand in a workshop that manufactured pocket watches using third-party parts. Selling the watches required frequent trips to Russia and the USA, opening up markets outside of Switzerland. From 1915 onwards, the production of pocket watches was supplemented by the manufacture of wristwatches. In 1920, Tissot also switched to producing its own watch movements. After a successful start, the luxury watch brand experienced the loss of its main Russian customers due to the October Revolutions. The quartz crisis also caused losses, making the collapse of the brand seem inevitable in 1983. The company was rescued two years later through a merger of SSIH with ASUAG, the Allgemeine Schweizer Uhren AG. In 1985, both companies formed the Swatch Group, which reorganized the Swiss watch industry and opened up new markets by sourcing high-quality watch case parts from its sister company, Georges Ruedin SA. Today, Tissot is one of the leading manufacturers of luxury watches and reflects Swissness through time-honored values, quality, and reliability.
Seven different product lines
Tissot's watch models include automatic watches , chronographs , and quartz watches . The Astrolon, which was made almost entirely of plastic and consisted of just 52 parts, was launched in 1971. Innovative innovations followed in the 1980s and 1990s, which helped the brand get its name. Cases made of unusual materials adorned fashionable wristwatches, giving rise to models such as the granite RockWatch in 1985 and the wooden WoodWatch in 1991. Tissot's regular product lines include the T-Touch , T-Sport , T-Classic , Heritage, which conquered the market in 2003 in honor of the brand's 150th anniversary, the T-Trend, T-Pocket, and T-Gold . In addition to pocket, sports, and diving watches , the brand offers touch technologies and retro-style luxury watches in the form of the Heritage collection. Furthermore, T-Trend offers discerning women and men a fashionable timepiece, and T-Gold refers to jewelry watches that Tissot has provided with a gold-plated case.
