zenith Zenith Chronomaster El Primero Open

When you first look at the Zenith Chronomaster El Primero Open chronograph, you will notice the dial opening in the upper left part of the watch, which gives a fascinating insight into the legendary El Primero 4061 caliber. This is powered by an automatic winding mechanism and enables a power reserve of at least 50 hours. In total, the chronograph consists of an incredible 282 components that form the basis of a variety of exciting functions. There is a 12-hour counter at the 6 o'clock position and a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock. The small seconds are also displayed at 9 o'clock. The case of the Zenith Chronomaster El Primero Open is made of stainless steel and has a diameter of 42 mm, as well as being water-resistant to 10 atm. The dial is silver-colored with a sunburst finish. The watch is worn with an elegant black alligator leather strap that is lined with rubber. The watch is fastened to the arm with a triple clasp made of stainless steel.

Celestial mechanics as a model for clockworks

Georges Favre-Jacot, the founder of the famous watch manufacturer, was just 22 years old when he founded the "Fabrique des Billodes" in Le Locle, Switzerland in 1865. Initially, the manufacturer mainly made precision pocket watches. Later, production expanded to include marine chronometers and table clocks. The company name came about because the starry sky reminded the company founder of a clockwork. This is also how the company symbol, which features a five-pointed star, came about. The first wristwatches were produced after the First World War. Later, in 1999, Zenith became part of the luxury goods group LVMH, together with TAG Heuer.
