The word Laureato, on the other hand, comes from Italian. It can be translated as academic or university graduate and thus expresses that it is a watch for people with a high level of education. The name was probably chosen because of its beautiful yet gentle sound in this language.       Story of a Return

      The Girard Perregaux Laureato collection was first presented in 1975. Its models were among the most popular luxury watches of their time and are still highly sought after by collectors today. For this reason, Girard Perregaux decided to release another Girard Perregaux Laureato as a collector's item for its 225th anniversary in 2016. The success of the limited anniversary model was even greater than the renowned watchmaking company had expected. Girard Perregaux therefore decided to follow up with a completely new Laureato generation, a collection that remains true to the tradition of the Girard Perregaux Laureato while meeting the demands of today's educated and elegant watch wearer.
