The essence of the Royal Oak
The Royal Oak Automatic is the heart of the collection – simple, balanced, and functional. Since its introduction, it has represented the combination of modern luxury and technical substance. Gérald Genta's original design with its octagonal bezel, visible screws, and "tapisserie" dial has been refined over the decades without losing any of its character. The automatic version remains true to its roots: an uncompromisingly designed watch for everyday wear – with the elegance of a classic.
Model variety & technical variants
The Royal Oak Automatic is available in various sizes and designs. The most popular is the 41 mm Reference 15500ST, featuring the modern Caliber 4302, which impresses with its 70-hour power reserve and high reliability. Its successor, the Ref. 15510ST, offers minor design adjustments while retaining the same technical features. Alternatively, 37 or 38 mm models are also available—ideal for slimmer wrists.
In terms of materials, the selection ranges from stainless steel to rose or yellow gold to two-tone versions. Dial colors such as blue, black, gray, or silver provide stylistic variety without losing the typical Royal Oak look.
What makes the Royal Oak Automatic so special?
Its flat profile, harmonious proportions, and clear functionality make the Royal Oak Automatic an ideal companion for almost any occasion. The new caliber 4302 represents contemporary technology, while the classic design has remained virtually unchanged for decades. It is the Royal Oak in its most original form—and that's precisely why it's so coveted.
