Breitling Chronomat 42

A design with history and recognition value

First introduced in 1984, the Chronomat was a watch that consistently combined technology, sportiness, and striking design. With the 2020 reissue, Breitling has modernized the concept—while also bringing back key design elements that have always defined the line's character.

The Chronomat 42 features clean lines, a balanced case, and the distinctive rouleaux-effect bracelet. The rotating bezel with tabs, the symmetrically designed dial, and the powerful pushers capture the original Chronomat DNA—and reinterpret it for today. A watch that doesn't follow trends but goes its own way.

Performance that is visible

Inside the Chronomat 42 is the Breitling Manufacture Caliber B01 – an automatic movement with column-wheel timing, vertical clutch, and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. It was developed entirely in-house and is COSC-certified. The chronograph function is precise, reliable, and a pleasure to use.

The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters, features a screw-down case, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and—depending on the model—a transparent case back that reveals the finely finished movement. Technology and craftsmanship are of the highest standard—for people who not only value but expect performance.

The Chronomat 42 is available in a variety of versions: stainless steel models with silver or blue dials, sporty panda versions, elegant two-tone versions, or versions in 18-carat red gold.
