      Big Crown ProPilot

      The name ProPilot is an abbreviation of the English word "professional pilot". It indicates that this is a watch specially developed for use by professional pilots and adapted to their needs. But the collection name Big Crown is also a reference to the watch's specialization in aviation. It translates as "big crown" and is reminiscent of a watch model that Oris also launched specifically for professional pilots in 1938. Since they often had difficulty setting and winding their watches quickly despite the gloves required for flying, the Big Crown had a particularly large crown that was easy to grip and turn even when wearing gloves.
