Pilot's watch tradition since 1909 - innovatively interpreted
The special feature of this caliber is its exceptionally high balance frequency of 36,000 semi-oscillations per hour (A/h). This means that even tenths of a second can be stopped. For this reason, the El Primero movement is one of the most precise stopwatches in the world. The column wheel chronograph also has a power reserve of 50 hours when fully wound. The Zenith Pilot Chronograph Type 20, for example, has only two auxiliary dials compared to most models in the El Primero Chronomaster collection. One is a 30-minute counter and the other is a decentralized second. However, various Zenith Chronomasters also have a 12-hour counter at six o'clock. The dials are partially grained and equipped with luminous hands and luminous numerals. With the oversized crown, the retro pilot's watches have a striking symbol that also distinguished the models of the time. Nubuck leather straps complement the models in style.
Zenith Pilot - a collection that inspires watch fans
The luxury watch manufacturer from Le Locle, Switzerland, developed pilot's watches and measuring instruments for aircraft as early as the beginning of the 20th century. According to the Zenith company, Louis Blériot, a French aviation pioneer, wore a Zenith pilot's watch in 1909 when he was the first person to cross the English Channel in an airplane. Even at that time, this pilot's watch had a distinctive crown and large numerals with a black dial. The hands and indices glowed brightly and the bezel was rotatable (arrow-shaped marking).
