The Story of the Rolex Submariner Kermit – A Homage with Recognizable Value

The Rolex Submariner Kermit was introduced in 2003 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Submariner. Reference 16610LV was the first Submariner with a green bezel, a distinctive feature that distinguished it from the classic models with black or blue bezels. The combination of the green aluminum bezel and black dial struck a perfect balance between tradition and modernity.

In 2010, the 16610LV was discontinued, while Rolex introduced a standalone green Submariner, the 116610LV ("Hulk"). Unlike the Kermit, it featured a green ceramic bezel and a green dial. Ten years later, in 2020, Rolex brought back the Kermit as the Ref. 126610LV—this time with a green Cerachrom bezel, a case enlarged to 41 mm, and the modern caliber 3235.

Design & Functions – Perfect combination of sportiness and elegance

The Rolex Submariner Kermit combines classic Submariner design with a striking color accent. The original 16610LV features a green aluminum bezel, while the 126610LV features an extremely durable green Cerachrom ceramic bezel. Both versions feature the signature black dial with Chromalight luminous material, ensuring optimal underwater legibility.

The stainless steel Oyster case is water-resistant to 300 meters and features a screw-down crown and a unidirectional rotating diving bezel. Inside is the reliable Rolex manufacture movement: While the 16610LV uses the caliber 3135, the 126610LV is equipped with the modern caliber 3235, which offers a 70-hour power reserve.

Models of the Rolex Submariner Kermit – Two generations of an icon

Over the years, Kermit has evolved, but its unique character remains. Today, there are two main models bearing the legendary name:

Rolex Submariner 16610LV (2003 – 2010):The first Kermit with an aluminum bezel, 40 mm case and caliber 3135.

Rolex Submariner 126610LV (since 2020):Reissue with green Cerachrom ceramic bezel, 41 mm case and caliber 3235.
