Heritage

The name Heritage may seem English to many people at first glance, and perhaps it is, as it is written without an accent. However, the same word also exists in French, Tissot's native language. In both languages it means inheritance, but despite the financial value of a Tissot watch, it does not refer to money or valuables. Rather, heritage is the cultural or spiritual legacy left to us by generations of ancestors. It is the tradition of Swiss watchmaking and the long history of the House of Tissot that the name Tissot Heritage refers to.

The Tissot Heritage series was created in 2003 to mark the 150th anniversary of the Swiss watch manufacturer. It is intended to celebrate the history and tradition of the Tissot brand and accordingly the names of most of the models in the series refer to an important year in its eventful past. The watches are each designed in reference to the models of the period to which they refer. Since its foundation in 1853, Tissot has experienced many trends in watch fashion. It was an innovator who always implemented new ideas, such as the first watches made of plastic, stone and wood. So it is no surprise that the Heritage models, which are intended to pay homage to all of them, are so diverse.
