Die Sea-Dweller 4000 ist eine professionelle Taucheruhr mit 40 mm Gehäuse aus Stahl, die für extreme Bedingungen ausgelegt wurde. Sie bietet eine Wasserdichtigkeit bis 1.220 Meter und verfügt über ein automatisches Uhrwerk (Kaliber 3135), das höchste Zuverlässigkeit garantiert. Ein Helium-Ausstiegsventil hilft bei Dekompressionsvorgängen, und das komplett schwarze Zifferblatt mit Leuchtindizes sorgt für beste Ablesbarkeit. Die Lünette besteht aus Cerachrom-Keramik mit vollständiger Minuteneinteilung und wird ergänzt durch ein massives Oyster-Armband mit Glidelock-und Fliplock-Verlängerung.

Die Referenz 116600 markiert den kurzen Zeitraum von 2014 bis 2017, in dem Rolex die Sea-Dweller in dieser Form modernisierte. Sie war das letzte Modell mit 40 mm ohne „Cyclops“ und verkörpert einen beliebten Zwischenschritt zwischen klassischen und neuen Deepsea-Modellen.
