It's that time again and the Wiesn season is just around the corner. From September 22nd to October 7th, the 185th Oktoberfest will take place and remains one of the most memorable events of the year. This special folk festival is visited by millions of fans every year – it's all about seeing and being seen. Stars and ordinary people from all over the world come to Munich every year for this. For this occasion, the traditional costume look should of course be perfect so that you don't get lost in the crowd and make a good impression. The right accessories are a must. These should ideally make a real impression for a dazzling appearance. But which watches go well with dirndls and lederhosen and are on trend this year? Below is a short guide to the perfect Oktoberfest style for 2018.

Dress code: These watches are suitable for Oktoberfest

This year, the focus will once again be on the wrist at the Oktoberfest. Wristwatches complete every traditional costume outfit and add the finishing touch. Natural materials remain on trend at the traditional folk festival this year too: Robust leather straps, preferably in darker tones to match leather trousers, are in vogue. High-quality leather is not only a real eye-catcher, it can also withstand a lot, which is definitely an advantage during the cheerful jostling on extensive festive evenings. Leather also always exudes an extra dose of masculinity - especially in a roughened look, a fashion statement and perfect for a cool, casual traditional outfit. Some of our favorites include the Carrera Automatic Chronograph Calibre Heuer 02 and the Monaco from TAG Heuer . These fine pieces of jewelry are available with straps made of brown camel leather or matte brown calfskin. The Rolex Cellini Dual Time in Everose Gold with a leather strap is also one of our favorites, as the watch is an incomparable blend of tradition and innovation – just like the modern Oktoberfest.

For those who value extravagance, the Tribute to Pallweber Edition "150 Years" from IWC Schaffhausen , featuring a jumping numeral module and rotating discs on the dial, might be the ideal Oktoberfest companion. This special piece, featuring a black alligator leather strap, pays homage to the historic Pallweber watches and impresses with its clean, simultaneously antique and modern design, which is sure to attract attention.

In addition, watch models in classic silver are still in demand. They add that certain something to the perfect traditional costume look, suit every style, and exude class without being too over the top. The Tudor Heritage Black Bay Bronze, with its bronze case, leather strap, and brown dial, for example, is guaranteed to complement leather trousers in style.

Men who prefer a simple white traditional shirt can also be bolder and add a pop of color to their timepiece. With the striking blue "Z-Blue" dial, combined with green sapphire crystal and orange accents on the Rolex Milgauss , you have a true luxury eye-catcher. You're sure to attract envious glances!

Steel cases with matching straps not only visually complement traditional costumes, but are also suitable for everyday use: They can be quickly and easily cleaned with a little water if an accident occurs at a festival involving beer, roasts, or the like. For anyone who finds the typical steel models too bulky, here's a little insider tip: The Breitling Transocean Chronograph with its delicate steel strap in Mercury silver looks extra elegant and stylish. Women should definitely take a closer look at Tudor 's new " Clair de Rose " line. The series is a tribute to classic feminine elegance and is therefore suitable for every woman. Thanks to the three different case sizes and the numerous models with or without decorative stones, as well as with leather or steel straps, there is something for every taste (and every dirndl!).

Another luxurious companion (and our most elegant favorite for women) is the Rolex Pearlmaster 34 in white gold with diamonds and a mother-of-pearl dial – this ensures a dazzling Oktoberfest appearance for this graceful lady.

THE Oktoberfest clock of last year

In 2017, a very special watch appeared – we remember: Hublot launched a special flyback chronograph with an Oktoberfest look. The Nyon-based manufacturer always values being where its customers are – so they decided to present the new watch with the Bavarian design directly at the Oktoberfest. To create the perfect Bavarian watch, the traditional Swiss company entered into a special collaboration with the Bavarian leather clothing company Meindl Fashion, which designed the two interchangeable straps of the Big Bang Unico Bavaria.

Both are made of hand-tanned deerskin and finely hand-embroidered. The first version is a classic strap in the color "Altsalzburg," a combination of brown and yellow, and features cuffs, a deer head, and oak leaf motif. Matching the color scheme of the strap, the 45-millimeter watch features a brushed bronze case, a new innovation from Hublot. With this design, the model also embodies this year's trends—a true Bavarian and, above all, timeless eye-catcher that is the perfect complement to traditional costume every year. Since direct skin contact with bronze is not advisable, the case back was specially crafted from glass-bead-blasted black ceramic, and rose gold screws were used. However, only 100 of this strictly limited flyback chronograph were produced. It could be purchased for €27,900 and is and will likely remain the undisputed champion at every Oktoberfest.
