Visiting HORANDO from China – How to Do It with a VPN

Shopping for luxury watches, wherever you are

Anyone in China who wants to visit horando.de – whether for a Rolex, an Audemars Piguet or another dream piece from the range of our German watch shop – has probably already noticed: the website cannot be accessed from China. The reason for this is so-called “geo-blocking”, which blocks access from China. The good news: with a VPN, this problem can easily be circumvented.

What is a VPN – and why does it help?

VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. It is a technology that routes the internet connection through a server in another country. To websites, it then looks as though the access is coming from that other country – not from China.

In concrete terms, this means: if you connect to a VPN server in Germany or Europe, horando.de can be accessed quite normally – just as if you were at home.

Step by step: visiting HORANDO with a VPN

1. Choose and install a suitable VPN

Not every VPN works reliably in China. China detects and blocks many inexpensive or free services. Proven providers that work in China include:

• ExpressVPN – considered one of the most reliable options for China
• NordVPN – likewise well suited, with many server locations
• Astrill VPN – particularly popular among expats in China

Important: ideally, the VPN should be installed and set up before entering China. Some provider websites are already blocked within China, which can make downloading from inside the country difficult.

2. Start the VPN and select a server

After opening the VPN app, select a server location in Germany or another European country. This ensures that horando.de recognises the connection as originating from the EU – and grants unrestricted access.

3. Open horando.de

As soon as the VPN is active, simply enter www.horando.de in the browser. The website now loads as usual – including the entire range, the prices and the option to place an order.

4. Order and have it delivered

HORANDO delivers internationally. At checkout, you can enter a delivery address in China or alternatively use an address in Germany or Europe – for example that of a friend or a parcel forwarding service, if the watch is to be received by post.

Tips for a smooth shopping experience

• Keep the VPN active at all times while browsing or ordering on horando.de – an interrupted connection can cause the page to suddenly stop loading.
• Check your payment method: credit cards from international providers (Visa, Mastercard) generally work without any problems. It is advisable to make sure the card is enabled for international transactions.
• Keep an eye on the exchange rate: prices on horando.de are quoted in euros. Converting them into Chinese yuan beforehand gives a realistic picture of the total cost.

Conclusion: no problem with a VPN

China need not be an obstacle if you wish to shop at HORANDO. With a reliable VPN service, a little preparation and the right settings, the entire range of horando.de can be browsed and ordered comfortably from within China – just as if you were in Germany. After all, luxury watches know no borders.
