The Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39 has a diameter of 39mm and is completely made of stainless steel. The 904 L stainless steel used in this watch meets the highest demands and is also used in aviation. It is characterised above all by its high corrosion resistance, which means that it retains its shine and beauty for a long time. Even in extreme situations, the alloy retains its splendour and can be polished easily, while still being particularly robust. This is ensured by a monoblock central part, screwed case back and a screw-on winding crown.
With the famous Oyster Band, Rolex has developed a tripartite band that is both elegant and comfortable. Since the end of the 1930s it has proven itself as a robust band and is characterised above all by wide and flat elements. The three-row strap is rounded off by the Oysterclasp clasp. Since then his design was often tried to copy, but never reached the original. Due to its construction, the strap clings to the wrist and can be worn almost unnoticed.
Whether in elegant dark rhodium (e.g. reference 114300), striking red grape (e.g. reference 114300) or sporty blue (e.g. reference 114300), the dial represents the face of the watch and the personal touch. For perfect readability of the watch, the indices are made of 18 carat gold, which prevents tarnishing. The dials are manufactured almost exclusively by hand at Rolex and meet the highest quality standards. The optics are rounded off by a scratch-resistant and insensitive sapphire glass.
The 3132 calibre used was developed entirely by Rolex and is produced entirely by the brand. In addition to an automatic selfwinding mechanism, the movement has a parachrome spiral and an anti-shock system. This offers maximum protection even in extreme conditions and with larger impacts. As a precision watch ( +/- 2 seconds per day) it carries, like all Rolex watches, the certificate of a Swiss chronometer. These may only be awarded by an independent Swiss testing laboratory. Three central hands are driven with it and display the hour, minute and second perfectly. The second stop offers the possibility to set the time almost exactly.
Precision and functionality are combined at Rolex. The Oyster Perpetual is a watch that can withstand extreme situations and is very robust. 100 meters waterproof, it can be used to explore the depths of the sea or to climb the highest mountains. To ensure this quality over time, every watch is tested to the limit before leaving the factory. In addition to functionality, optical perfection is also ensured by pure manual work.
