Tudor and Rolex: A brief background
The Tudor brand name was registered in 1926, and Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex, later took over the brand completely. Tudor was intended to offer watches of Rolex quality at a more accessible price and for a long time used Rolex cases and externally sourced movements for this purpose. Since 2015, Tudor has developed its own manufacture calibres and today presents itself as an independent brand with a clear profile. You can read how the two brands differ in the article Tudor vs. Rolex. The story behind the Tudor rose is told in the article La vie en rose.
Black Bay: The dive watch and its family
The Black Bay is Tudor's most successful line. It takes up the design of Tudor's dive watches from the 1950s and 1960s, with a large crown, Snowflake hands and a rotating bezel. The original dive watch has grown into an entire family. You will find all models in our Tudor Black Bay collection.
Black Bay, Black Bay 54 and Black Bay 58
The classic Black Bay has a diameter of 41 millimetres and a rotating bezel, and is water-resistant to 200 metres. The Black Bay 58 is more compact at 39 millimetres and is named after the reference 7924 from 1958. The 37-millimetre Black Bay 54 recalls Tudor's first dive watch from 1954. In addition to stainless steel, the Black Bay 58 is also available in silver (925) and yellow gold (18K). For a bold format, there is the 43-millimetre Black Bay 68.

Black Bay One 31, 36, 39 and 41
With a fixed bezel and water resistance to 100 metres, these models are the elegant all-rounders of the family. The number in the name indicates the diameter: From the delicate Black Bay One 31 to the Black Bay One 36, the Black Bay One 39 and the Black Bay One 41. All sizes are available in stainless steel and as a two-tone S&G version with gold.

Black Bay GMT and Black Bay Pro
For travellers, there is the Black Bay GMT with a second time zone and two-colour bezel, in 41 millimetres and as the Black Bay 58 GMT in 39 millimetres. The Black Bay Pro is the robust variant with a fixed 24-hour steel bezel. Our comparison Tudor Black Bay GMT vs. Rolex Pepsi shows how the Black Bay GMT measures up against its Rolex counterpart.

Black Bay Chrono
The Black Bay Chrono is the family's chronograph. Inside beats the manufacture calibre MT5813 with a 70-hour power reserve, and the watch is water-resistant to 200 metres. You can read more in the article Tudor Black Bay Chrono value appreciation.

Pelagos: The professional dive watch
The Pelagos is built for use underwater. The case is made of titanium, and the 42-millimetre Pelagos is water-resistant to 500 metres and features a helium escape valve. The family also includes the more compact Pelagos 39, the Pelagos LHD with its crown on the left, the Pelagos FXD with fixed, screwed-in strap bars and the Pelagos Ultra, designed for particularly great depths.

Ranger: The understated field watch
The Ranger is inspired by the watches of the British North Greenland Expedition of 1952 to 1954. It dispenses with a date and rotating bezel and features large Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12. The Ranger is available in diameters of 36 and 39 millimetres.

Royal: The elegant watch with an integrated bracelet
The Royal combines an integrated bracelet with a fluted bezel and is regarded as an alternative to the Rolex Datejust. It is available in sizes from 30 to 40 millimetres, and the 40-millimetre models also display the day of the week. In addition to stainless steel, there are two-tone versions with yellow gold. Our article Rolex Datejust alternatives presents further alternatives to the Datejust.

1926: Classic watches for every day
The Tudor 1926 is named after the year in which the brand name was registered. It stands for classic design with a textured dial and is available in 28, 36, 39 and 41 millimetres, in stainless steel or two-tone with rose gold. With a moon phase, it is called the 1926 Luna.

Clair de Rose: The ladies' line
The Clair de Rose is Tudor's feminine line and bears the Tudor rose in its name. It is available in 26, 30 and 34 millimetres, has an automatic movement with date and is water-resistant to 100 metres.
Monarch: Elegance with small seconds
With the Monarch, Tudor revives a name from its own history. The 39-millimetre stainless steel case, the small seconds and the manufacture calibre MT5662-2U with a 65-hour power reserve make it the classic watch in the range.
