The Longines La Grande Classique collection is the result of a rich history that dates back to 1832, when Auguste and Ernest Francillon opened a watchmaking workshop in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. The brothers developed numerous innovations in watchmaking technology, including precision chronographs and improved manufacturing processes. As their reputation as master watchmakers grew, the Francillons decided to register their watches in 1867 and the Longines company was born.
