Longines Moon phase

The moon phase is one of the classic complications from Longines and is found above all in the Master Collection. A disc under the dial shows whether it is new moon, half moon or full moon, usually in a window at 6 o'clock. At HORANDO you will find moon phase models for women and men, as three-hand watches and as chronographs. Every watch is new and unworn, comes with box, papers and manufacturer's warranty and is shipped fully insured. The delivery time is shown on every watch.

How the moon phase works

The moon disc carries two moons and is advanced a small step once a day by the movement. A lunar cycle lasts around 29.5 days, and the display reproduces it so accurately that it only needs correcting occasionally. On many models the moon phase sits in a subdial, combined with a pointer date around the edge.

The models at a glance

The Master Collection offers the moon phase as a three-hand watch in several sizes, with retrograde displays and as a chronograph with moon phase. The Flagship Heritage takes up the design of the 1950s. For women there are the PrimaLuna Moon Phase and the Elegant Collection Moon Phase. You will find further models with stop function under Longines Chronograph.

Frequently asked questions about Longines Moon phase

How much does a Longines moon phase cost?

The current price range can be found in the price overview on this page.

How exactly does the moon phase display work?

The display works on a cycle of 29.5 days, the actual lunar month lasts around 29 days, 12 hours and 44 minutes. After about two and a half years, this results in a deviation of one day, which can be corrected with just one movement.

What do I have to pay attention to when setting up?

Do not make corrections late in the evening or at night when the rear derailleur is active. Intervention during this time window can damage the mechanics.

Are the watches at HORANDO new and original?

Yes. Each new watch is unworn and comes with box, papers and the full manufacturer's warranty. Before shipping, we look at each watch again, check the reference and serial number and pack it neatly.
