Vintage-inspired diving design with a strong identity
The design of the Legend Diver follows the classic compressor style of the late 1950s: two crowns on the right side of the case – one for the time, one for the internal rotating diving bezel – and a round stainless steel case with clean edges and high water resistance. The domed sapphire crystal is deliberately crafted in the style of Plexiglas, reinforcing the historic feel.
The dial captivates with its retro character: large Arabic numerals, striking luminous indices, tapered hands, and a clearly visible minute track. Depending on the model, versions are available with or without a date display. The dials are available in jet black or dark blue – some with color gradients that change depending on the light, adding additional depth to the watch.
With a case diameter of 42 mm, the watch has a striking yet unobtrusive appearance. It sits comfortably on the wrist and is easy to wear thanks to the ergonomically curved lugs. The screw-down crown and solid case back ensure water resistance to 300 meters – more than enough for sporting demands, but also a reliable companion in everyday life.
Mechanics with modern drive and vintage facade
Inside is the Longines Caliber L888.5, a reliable automatic movement with a silicon hairspring based on the ETA A31.L11. It offers a power reserve of approximately 72 hours and is specifically designed for robustness and precision—ideal for a sporty watch that's in regular use.
The movement is not visible through the caseback – in keeping with its historical model. Instead, the screwed-down caseback is adorned with a relief engraving of a diver with a spear, the original symbol of the first Legend Diver. The movement runs reliably, is shock-resistant, and features increased resistance to magnetic fields. Winding is traditionally done via the crown, which is knurled for a comfortable grip and well-protected within the case.
The operation of the internal bezel is intuitive and makes the watch practical for diving or sporting activities – a successful combination of aesthetics and function.
Variants with character and collector value
The Legend Diver is available in various versions – with a stainless steel case, some with a DLC coating in black or bronze. Dial variants in black, blue, or brown tones, with or without a date window, allow the watch to be individually tailored to your personal style.
The straps range from military-style textile NATO straps to textured rubber or vintage leather. With each variation, the watch remains clearly true to its identity: a modern classic with a genuine retro flair and technical reliability – ideal for those who appreciate functional design with a sense of history.
