The diver's watch from Longines

The HydroConquest is the sporty diver's watch in the Longines range and is aimed at anyone looking for a robust watch for the water and everyday life. It is water-resistant to 300 metres, and the bezel only turns anticlockwise, which protects against an overly long dive time. Crown and caseback are screwed down, hands and indices carry luminous material, and the folding clasp of the steel bracelet has a diver's extension so the watch can also be worn over a wetsuit. With the 2018 update the HydroConquest received a bezel with a ceramic insert, which is far more scratch-resistant than aluminium.

Sizes, colours and versions

The HydroConquest is available in 39, 41 and 43 millimetres, and the 41-millimetre version suits most wrists. Dials range from black and blue to green and grey, and the watch is worn on a stainless steel bracelet or a rubber strap. The HydroConquest GMT shows a second time zone with an additional hand and has a 24-hour bezel, while the HydroConquest Chronograph adds a stopwatch function. If you like the style of the 1960s, the Legend Diver is an alternative with an internal rotating bezel.

Movements and warranty

The three-hand models are powered by the automatic calibre L888 with around 72 hours of power reserve, in many current references with a silicon balance spring that is resistant to magnetic fields. The GMT uses the calibre L844, also with around 72 hours of power reserve, and the chronograph an automatic movement with a column wheel. All movements are calibres from the Swatch Group made exclusively for Longines. Longines grants a five-year manufacturer's warranty on watches with a mechanical movement.
