Modern pilot's watches inspired by aviation pioneers
Today's Spirit collection was presented in 2020 and builds on Longines' pilot's watch heritage – the brand accompanied aviation pioneers such as Amelia Earhart and Howard Hughes. Its hallmarks are the robust, classic pilot's style, luminous numerals, hands and indices, and the five stars above the 6 o'clock position, which traditionally stand for the finest movements from the house of Longines.
Models and sizes
The collection comprises classic three-hand watches, chronographs and the Spirit Zulu Time world-time watch with GMT function. The cases, 40 or 42 millimetres in diameter, are made of high-quality stainless steel or lightweight titanium; the dials come in matt black, silver or blue sunray. On the titanium models Longines dispenses with the date in favour of a symmetrical dial – here the hands, numerals and indices set golden accents against an anthracite background.
Movements with chronometer certification
Every Spirit is COSC-certified as a chronometer. The three-hand models are powered by calibre L888.4 with up to 72 hours of power reserve, while the chronographs are driven by the automatic calibre L688.4 – including a practical pusher at 10 o'clock for quick date correction.
