The popular Longines Spirit collection first appeared in public at the beginning of the 2000s. But this product series is in no way comparable to today's Longines Spirit collection. Instead of the simple cushion shape, these timepieces are decorated with luminous numerals, hands and indices. The Longines Spirit wristwatches on the market today were first introduced in 2020 and are particularly characterized by their robust and at the same time classic pilot-style shape - which makes them real pilot's watches.
The Spirit models are available as classic three-hand watches and with a chronograph function. In both models, the watches are available in different sizes and designs: with diameters of 40 and 42 millimeters, they fit every wrist. In addition, the wristwatches are presented with a case made of fine titanium or high-quality stainless steel. The three-hand watches are available with a dial in matte black, crowned silver or a blue sunburst finish. The numerals have an Arabic structure and are filled with luminous material that guarantees visibility in poor lighting conditions. There are also five stars above the 6 o'clock position on the dial, which symbolize the particularly high-quality models from Longines. The stainless steel models are also decorated with a date window, a metal ring with diamond-shaped hour indices and a red lacquered second hand.
Unlike the stainless steel case, the titanium models do not have a date at all - instead, the luxury watch manufacturer relies on a harmonious symmetry of the dial. In addition, the hands, numbers and indices are made of pure gold and provide an exciting contrast to the anthracite-colored background. The chronographs are available with a case made of high-quality stainless steel and have an identical design. However, the date is located between the 4 and 5 o'clock positions. While the five stars are located directly below the Longines logo at the 12 o'clock position for reasons of space.
The movement in the three-hand watches is a chronometer-certified caliber L.888.4, which reflects the ETA A31.L11 and has a power reserve of up to 72 hours. The chronographs are powered by the high-precision automatic caliber L.688.4, which is based on the ETA A08.L01. A special feature is the pusher at 10 o'clock, which is responsible for advancing the date.
