The company Le Brassus is based in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. The company was founded in 1881 by Jules-Louis Audemars and his friend Edward-Auguste Piguet. At first they developed pocket watches, of which the "Grande Complication" won a medal at the 1889 World Exhibition in Paris. In 1891 they produced the first wristwatch with minute repeater. After the death of the company's founders, the heirs took over the business and also devoted themselves to the development and production of high-quality wristwatches. Today, the company is a constant in the watch market and is appreciated by watch lovers and collectors alike. One of Audemars Piguet's great successes is the Royal Oak - today a timepiece with cult status.
