The company Le Brassus is based in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. The company was founded in 1881 by Jules-Louis Audemars and his friend Edward-Auguste Piguet. At first they developed pocket watches, of which the "Grande Complication" won a medal at the 1889 World Exhibition in Paris. In 1891 they produced the first wristwatch with minute repeater. After the death of the company's founders, the heirs took over the business and also devoted themselves to the development and production of high-quality wristwatches. Today, the company is a constant in the watch market and is appreciated by watch lovers and collectors alike. One of Audemars Piguet's great successes is the Royal Oak - today a timepiece with cult status.

1972 was the birth of the Royal Oak of Audemars Piguet

Designer Gérald Genta developed this automatic watch, which caused a sensation on the market at the time. The octagonal watch made of stainless steel - instead of gold - was extremely flat and distinguished by an extraordinary mix of satin-finished and polished surfaces. Critics gave the watch little chance, especially as its price was in the high-price segment. But Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak was convincing all along the line. Over the years, the waterproof sports watch has developed into a true classic that has not only delighted prominent brand ambassadors. The company has maintained and consistently developed its "flagship" for almost four decades. Today, the Royal Oak collection ranges from purist automatic watches to ultra-sporty carbon or steel chronographs (e.g. reference 26320ST.OO.1220ST.02).

Lionel Messi is representative of Audemars Piguet

Audemars Piguet's record-breaking footballer received a Royal Oak as a gift for his title as top scorer in the Spanish league. Since then he has been a confessed lover of these luxury watches and the company's brand ambassador. In recognition of his success, Audemars Piguet developed the Royal Oak Lionel Messi Special Edition. Some characteristic features of the classic have been changed. The case of this Royal Oak is two millimetres wider, the dial is made of tantalum and instead of a stainless steel bracelet crocodile leather was used.

Luxury Watches for Water Sports, Outdoor, Business and Leisure

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Automatic and Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph are among the most eye-catching luxury timepieces. While the Royal Oak was still a rarity at that time as a steel watch, it quickly convinced that instead of some gold watches it had what it took to become a real classic. The success proves Audemars Piguet right. The octagonal bezel, which is held to the case with striking screws, is striking. The dial has a fine waffle pattern and the rod-shaped indices adapt perfectly to the respective case colour. At three o'clock there is a date window (e.g. reference 15400ST.OO.1220ST.02). The Royal Oak by Audemars Piguet is now available in several versions. From the classic steel watch to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar and the Royal Oak Tourbillon. However, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon is already in the top price league. It is surpassed by the Royal Oak Grande Complication, the exclusive model for the upper class. Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak watches are available with a metal, crocodile leather or rubber strap and have inspired watch lovers for many years.
