The Le Brassus company is based in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. The company was founded in 1881 by Jules-Louis Audemars and his friend Edward-Auguste Piguet. They initially developed pocket watches, the "Grande Complication" of which won a medal at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1889. In 1891 they produced the first wristwatch with a minute repeater. After the heirs took over the business following the death of the company founders, they also devoted themselves to the development and production of high-quality wristwatches. Today the company is a major player in the watch market and is valued by watch lovers and collectors alike. One of Audemars Piguet's great successes is the Royal Oak - today a timepiece with cult status.

1972 saw the birth of the Royal Oak by Audemars Piguet
Designer Gérald Genta developed this automatic watch, which caused a sensation on the market at the time. The company has now cultivated its "flagship" for almost four decades and has consistently developed it further. Today, the Royal Oak collection includes models from puristic automatic watches to ultra-sporty chronographs made of carbon.
