Tank, Santos, Ballon Bleu
Cartier helped shape the wristwatch as a form: The Santos was created in 1904 for the aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont, the Tank in 1917 after the outline of a tank seen from above. Both lines are still made today with only careful changes – which is why a twenty-year-old Tank does not look dated.
What to look for in a pre-owned Cartier
On shaped cases, signs of wear show mainly on the edges; on models with a leather strap, the strap is a wear part and can be replaced. It is also worth checking the condition of the crown with its cabochon and the originality of the dial.
