Unchanged yet variable
Since its presentation in 1994, the Lange 1 has been repeatedly revised over the years. However, its defining elements always form an isosceles triangle. However, the components vary to a certain degree and thus appeal to different requirements. Walter Lange was inspired in his design by the stage clock of the Dresden Semper Opera.
Technically flawless art
The ingredients are perfectly processed. Only the finest materials are used, such as gold, platinum, white gold and the like. The Roman numerals on the dial convey a special flair. The Lange 1 is technically state-of-the-art. Its mechanical movement with tourbillon ensures high precision.
A. Lange & Söhne
Founded in 1845, the company was blessed with the best conditions right from the start. Ferdinand Adolph Lange, apprentice and son-in-law of the royal court watchmaker Johann Christian Friedrich Gutkaes senior, continued the family tradition only as a company. The brand quickly gained great fame and turned Glashütte into a watchmaking centre. The company was forced to take a break due to nationalisation in the GDR. Walter Lange, great-grandson of the company founder, re-founded the company after about 40 years and led it to new splendour. More than ever, their watches are in demand as collector's items.
