Authentic retro design with attention to detail
What makes the Heritage Collection special is its stylistic fidelity to the original. Models like the Legend Diver, Avigation, Tuxedo, and Classic Sector clearly reference the period between the 1930s and 1970s – with elements such as cathedral hands, railway minute markers, historical logos, domed dials, and colored patinated luminous elements. The designs appear authentic, but never artificially aged.
Case sizes and shapes are also based on the historical models. In addition to round stainless steel cases, there are also tonneau-shaped or asymmetrical designs – combined with sapphire crystal, screw-down cases, or crown protectors, depending on the original model. Sizes range from a compact 36 mm to a sporty and striking 43 mm.
Dials often feature matte or brushed tones—from black to beige to smoky blue—with harmonious details such as blued hands, antique white luminous material, or retro-inspired numeral typography. They're complemented by vintage-look leather straps or textile and stainless steel options for sportier models.
Modern calibers in a classic design
Despite their vintage appearance, the models in the Heritage Collection feature modern mechanics throughout. They predominantly use automatic movements from the L888 or L893 series – based on ETA calibers modified exclusively for Longines. They offer a 64 to 72-hour power reserve, are equipped with a silicon hairspring, and feature increased resistance to magnetic fields and temperature fluctuations.
The movements are designed for rate stability and everyday usability, yet are finely decorated and, in many models, visible through sapphire crystal cases. Operation is traditionally via the crown – the winding runs smoothly and precisely, and the rate is stable, even with regular use.
Special models with complications such as GMT, chronograph or world time display complement the collection with technical diversity – without losing sight of the design origins.
Models with history and character
The Longines Heritage Collection is broadly positioned: from the elegant Heritage Classic Sector Dial to the sporty and distinctive Legend Diver. Each model tells its own story – whether as a reissue of a Longines pocket watch design or a revival of a pilot's watch for the French Air Force.
The collection is aimed at collectors, history buffs, and anyone who wants to wear a watch with a true connection to the past—without sacrificing modern technology. A Heritage Longines is more than just a watch: It is part of a legacy that has been passed down for over 190 years.
