Mido - beauty from tradition

Mido is one of the traditional Swiss companies that have earned today's status with precision, appealing looks and innovation. The company was founded in 1918 and thus can already look back on a history of over a hundred years. Founder Georges Schaeren named his company after the Spanish slogan "Yo mido", which stands for "I measure". An extremely apt name for a brand that aims to distinguish itself with high-precision wristwatches. From the very beginning, Mido watches were characterized by a distinct elegance, both for men and women. But Schaeren focused not only on the mere appearance. He was also inventive. In 1930, he began to equip his watches with the cork crown sealing system, which brought with it a special water resistance. A truly unique selling point in the watch market of the time. At the end of the 1950s, the company introduces the single-shell case, which is another milestone in waterproof watches. At the end of the 1990s, Mido experimented a lot. The Worldtimer and the Bodyguard were born. With the turn of the millennium, the company begins to return to its roots, creating sleek and beautifully designed watches. In 2006, Mido launches a new collection of the model to mark the 30th anniversary of the Baroncelli. To this day, this watch has retained its beauty and precision.
