The special qualities of Nomos Glashütte Tetra
The typography on the galvanised and silver-plated white dial has a modern look, as small serifs are dispensed with. According to the old watchmaking tradition, the hands were heated to over 290 degrees. They shimmer through the sapphire crystal in cornflower blue, without any varnishing or painting. The Nomos Glashütte Tetra has a size of 29.5 x 29.5 mm and a hand-winding-friendly height of only 6.3 mm. The Tetra has a stainless steel housing with a steel base and is splash-proof with a water resistance of 3 atm. In addition to the standard model Nomos Glashütte Tetra, there are the Tetra 27 and Tetra neomatik 39 versions, each with slightly different features.
Glashütte is a small town located in the German East Ore Mountains south of Berlin and near Dresden. It is nestled between forests and hills and forms the designation of origin for NOMOS Glashütte watches, which have been manufactured here for more than 170 years. The watch manufactory NOMOS Glashütte/SA Roland Schwertner KG is today the largest manufacturer of mechanical watches in Germany and produces models that are now world famous. The characteristic feature of all watches is the highest quality - an attribute that logically also applies to the Nomos Glashütte Tetra model. For a quarter of a century, this model has been a classic in a timelessly simple and elegant design with a square contour that radiates an unmistakable charm.
